Saturday morning

Karl is doing well. We got to the hospital around 9:30am. Karl said he didn't sleep real well last night, but well, he did have brain surgery yesterday. I suppose that's kind of expected. Probably even better news than the surgery going well was Karl being cleared to eat whatever he would like. And boom goes the dynamite. Karl has thoroughly taken advantage of U of C's excellent "catering services", as evident by the attached picture.

Karl will have another MRI today just to check in on everything. He had a CAT scan last night and everything looked good.

A lot of people have been asking what % of the tumor was taken out. Because of the type of tumor that Karl has it is both impossible to tell exactly what percentage they have taken out as well as how much remains. What we know is that the doctor got a "boatload" of it yesterday, which is obviously a good very, very good thing.

Oh and Karl's headdress is a form of religious expression.

  1. We love you guys and are praying hard for all of you...especially for the guy in the turban! (thanks for the great pics, by the way...I'm starving!) The Lord knows the percent of that tumor that needs to be history so we will continue to pray and trust! The Spocks
