We just left the hospital for the evening. Karl is doing reasonably well. In fact he even asked me what time it was in Spanish today. Apparently they implanted an "SAP" button during the surgery. He is still in the ICU and is pretty groggy, however he is very coherent and aware evidenced by his implementation and usage of "Krass family nicknames"; as I am again affectionately known as "Stinky", Kari is "Reeree" and Alan is "Alby".
Right now we are awaiting the results of the biopsy. Once the know what the tumor is "made up of" they will know how to treat it most effectively. Our hope is that he will be moved out of the ICU and back home at some point next week. Karl deeply appreciates all your prayers.
I (Keith, his little brother) will do my best to update this blog on a nearly daily basis because as Karl said yesterday before the surgery "I'm kind of a big deal".
As you can see Karl still has his sense of humor.
